About OlderPeople.co.uk
OlderPeople.co.uk is a free information website for people in later life and for those who support them.
The site was created by Jerry Livings, a qualified UK counsellor with experience in bereavement, emotional wellbeing and later-life issues.
Why This Site Exists
Later life can bring many changes. Some are welcome, some are difficult, and some arrive suddenly.
People may face bereavement, loneliness, retirement, health worries, caring responsibilities, family changes, loss of confidence, or the challenge of living alone.
Many older people do not necessarily want formal counselling therapy. They may simply want clear, calm, practical information that helps them understand what they are feeling and what might help.
OlderPeople.co.uk was created to provide that kind of information.
About Me

I'm Jerry Livings, a qualified counsellor
in the UK.

My experience is in supporting adults through a wide range of life challenges, including bereavement, loneliness, anxiety, retirement and major life transitions.
As an older person myself, I understand how those changes can affect confidence, connection and peace of mind.
I've worked with Ellenor Hospice, Shaw Trust and MIND, supporting people through loss, adjustment and emotional wellbeing.
Although this website is not a counselling service, my experience informs my style of writing: simple, respectful, practical and compassionate.
My aim is to make useful information easier to access, especially for older people who prefer straightforward written guidance.
