  • As we get older, life can bring many changes:  some expected, others surprising.

    • Relationships shift, health can fluctuate, and familiar roles or routines may be replaced with some unfamiliar ones.

  • As an older person myself, I understand how those changes can affect confidence, connection and peace of mind.

  • Everyone’s experience of ageing is unique, and sometimes, simply being heard can make the greatest difference.

  • Counselling should be gentle, respectful and genuinely helpful.

    • For many people, having a calm, consistent space to talk can bring comfort, clarity and renewed hope, even when things are really difficult.

  • I founded OlderPeople.co.uk to make counselling more accessible, approachable, comfortable and relevant for people in later life.

  • Talking helps — and it’s never too late to begin.

My approach

  • My approach is warm, patient and practical. I listen carefully, help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and work with you to find realistic ways forward.

  • The focus is on simplicity and understanding: no technical barriers, no jargon, just practical help in dealing with the things that older people often come up against:

    • Loneliness and social isolation

    • Anxiety or loss of confidence

    • Bereavement and grief

    • Changes in identity or purpose after retirement

    • Relationship challenges and caring responsibilities

    • Adjusting to health or lifestyle changes

    • Recently retired or living alone

  • Every conversation is confidential, and focused on what matters most to you.

    • Coping with bereavement or multiple losses

    • Supporting a partner or family member

    • Living with long-term health conditions

    • Seeking new meaning, structure or companionship

My Qualifications

  • Accredited Member: National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS)
